Unplanned assembly outside Martinkirche occurs without prior notice.

In the heart of Bremen, on the morning of September 20, 2025, an unannounced assembly took place at Martinikirche. Organised by the group "Bremen Activists for Change," approximately 30 people gathered, holding signs and chanting "My body, my choice."

The gathering disrupted a bus that was supposed to transport church members to an event related to abortion. Despite repeated requests, no organizer of the gathering stepped forward.

Initially, participants did not comply with the police's requests to move to a designated new location. However, later in the day, they left the road independently and moved towards the Wilhelm-Kaisen-Bridge, some in small groups.

Due to the blockade, the police designated a new assembly location for the gathering. The unannounced assembly was declared by the Bremen Police, and several people at the gathering were identified.

Complaints were filed against participants for harassment and violating assembly laws. Despite the disruption, no one was injured during the incident, and no damage was done to the church building.

For any inquiries regarding the incident, please contact Nils Matthiesen at the Press Office of the Bremen Police. The bus that was blocked was able to depart without further issues following the dispersal of the gathering.

On September 25, 2025, another unannounced gathering took place in Bremen's Altstadt district. The Bremen Police continue to encourage organisers to follow proper procedures to ensure the safety and rights of all involved.
