Titled "Central Park Boating: An Unconventional Adventure"
Hop on board, folks! This week, we decided to ditch our swanky sweater vests and embark on an old-fashioned adventure. We hopped into some dusty rowboats and set sail on Central Park Lake. Our objective? To put our back muscles to the test, outrun the tourists, and soak up the remaining sunshine in this concrete jungle we call home. Clumsily climbing aboard, our experienced captains took charge—and based on their steering skills, they'd been rounding these waters for quite some time.
The ladies lounged, shared laughs, and even belted a few love ballads (much needed for the quintessential boat ride experience). After clearing the well-known Bow Bridge and stopping for a quick chat with a family of sunbathing turtles, it was time for the gals to take the helm. While some of us demonstrated our grace like the clumsiest dolphins ever, the chaos quickly subsided once we found our rhythm—oh, and learned that half-submerging an entire oar was, in fact, an ineffective rowing technique.
We shuffled rowers here and there (no sudden maneuvers, please!), and then settled back to enjoy the breathtaking views. To our right, an oil painter and his Titanic-inspired subject (no icebergs, thank goodness), to our left, a newly-blossoming romance. Ahead, the Dakota building and the strikingly beautiful twin towers of the San Remo (spoiler alert, our office might move there someday).
Rowing may not provide the adrenaline rush of a high-intensity workout, but in this city whirlwind, nothing slows us down (pun intended) quite like a leisurely rowboat jaunt. Central Park's Loeb Boathouse invites the public for enjoyable boat rides from April to November, weather permitting.
Renting rowboats at Central Park Lake is a breeze:

- Rental Process: You can rent rowboats directly at the Central Park Boathouse, typically for $15 per hour with a $20 deposit required. They only accept good ol' fashioned greenbacks, so make sure to stash some cash.
Just don't forget to check the weather and call ahead to ensure availability, as the boathouse operates contingent upon weather conditions. Enjoy the serene sailing!
During our rowing session, it became apparent that mental health is just as important as physical strength on our team. After a rigorous row, we took a moment to discuss the benefits of team-building activities for other mental health.
As the race for the finish line heated up, I couldn't help but think that rowing, much like life, requires a steady stroke, coordination, and a strong mental game to overcome challenges.
