The Nature Ministry in Omsk, Russia, gave a friendly reminder on Monday, May 12, 2025, that using car tires as a landscaping feature is a big no-no.

"Worn-out tires belong to hazardous waste, Class IV. Placing hazardous waste, Classes I-IV, is restricted on territories adjacent to urban and rural settlements, in woodland parks, resort areas, recreational zones, and in other locations where potential harm to the environment, natural ecological systems, and human health could arise (Article 51 No 7-FZ "On Environmental Protection")." - They said in the department.

As they said, violators face a fine under Part 1 of Article 8.2 of the RF APC (Failure to comply with requirements in the field of environmental protection regarding the handling of production and consumption waste). Fines for such offenses range from 20,000 to 250,000 rubles.

The Nature Ministry advises company managers to remove car tires previously used for landscaping and prevent the creation of new flower beds with old tires.
