In the heart of Nordhorn, Germany, a gathering titled "A Glass" took place at the "Zwischenzeit" in the community house of the Kreuzkirche on Van-Delden-Straße. The event, organised by the municipal equal opportunities officer Anja Milewski, drew more than 20 women from politics and society, including four current councilwomen, an honorary councilwoman, representatives of the SPD, CDU, and Green parties, as well as other politically interested women from Nordhorn.

The focus of the event was the discussion of "Gender Planning" and gender-responsive building. Anja Milewski introduced the topic, emphasising the importance of considering who uses the space, how, and who is currently overlooked in the basic idea of gender-responsive building.

The expert for the event was Nordhorn's city building director Milena Schauer. She presented current building and housing projects in Nordhorn that consider aspects of gender-responsive urban planning. Schauer stated that the city plans buildings and places so that all people can use them safely, comfortably, and with pleasure.

During the event, Milewski provided updates on current topics from the equal opportunities office. These updates included the upcoming offers around the topic of cycling, with the popular cycling course for women from all over the world resuming during the autumn holidays. The women's cycling tour will take place on September 9th at 5 pm as part of the city cycling event.

In addition to the "A Glass" event, another gathering is scheduled for Friday, January 30, 2026, at 7 pm at the Municipal Gallery. Interested politically-minded women can contact Anja Milewski at her email address for future event invitations.

The city of Nordhorn also provides information about all its offers on its website. Furthermore, an additional event titled "Experiencing Safety" exclusively for women in cooperation with the police will occur on September 15th.

The search results do not provide information about the current host of the "A Glass" event scheduled for January 30, 2026. However, attendees can expect another engaging and informative discussion on gender planning and gender-responsive building.
