Southwest Germany is gearing up for an exciting August, with a variety of festivals and cultural happenings scheduled throughout the month. Here are some key events to look forward to:

Open Air Festivals near Munich
Get ready for a mix of DJs and varied performances at open-air festivals in Eching, Garching, and Munich Beach Resort. These events are easily accessible by public transit.
It's worth noting that the Lidl Deutschland Tour cycling race will take place in Germany during August, but the final stages will be held in eastern and central Germany rather than Southwest Germany proper.
While Berlin Pride and the Museumsuferfest occur in other regions, Southwest Germany offers a vibrant mix of traditional festivals, open-air music, and wine celebrations throughout August 2025.
In other news, the German Football League (DFL) plans to use a RefCam more frequently this season. The Sportschau will air again on Fridays directly in the first channel starting August 22.
For those needing to renew their passports, photos in paper form will still be accepted if the relevant citizens' office is not yet able to implement digital submissions. Starting from August, photos for ID cards or passports can only be submitted digitally.

Two training professions, precious metal tester and pre-polisher, have been integrated into goldsmith and silversmith, and gemstone setter. The updated feed-in remuneration applies only to newly installed systems.

Lastly, the Seenachtfest will take place in Konstanz on August 9, an open-air festival on the Lake Constance shore with a large fireworks display. The rate for the first 10 kWp is now 7.87 € for 20 years.
