In Woodbridge, Virginia, on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, Anthony Jermaine Bowles, a 33-year-old resident of the area, was taken into custody following an incident at the Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center in Prince William County.

According to reports from the Prince William County Police Department (PWCPD), Bowles was in police custody at the hospital for evaluation when he became combative and managed to remove his restraints. He then ran into a police officer and attempted to disarm him by trying to grab the officer's gun during a struggle.

Fortunately, hospital staff and security personnel quickly intervened to assist the officer, and no injuries were reported. Bowles was subsequently re-detained by the officer and the hospital staff.

Bowles now faces charges of attempting to disarm a law enforcement officer and resisting arrest. He is currently being held on a $10,000 bond. No further information about the outcome of the incident or the police officer involved has been released.
