It's been a busy year for the 268 monitoring groups keeping tabs on the population's adherence to sanitary and anti-epidemic measures in Almaty region, according to a report by "Kazinform".

As Kar Tales from the Department for Quality and Safety Control of Goods and Services shared, over 17,800 inspections have been conducted since the beginning of the year. Covering some 102,000 objects, the monitoring groups have discovered a whopping 1025 violations of the quarantine regime.

Penalties have been issued to 563 objects amounting to a staggering 66,131,720 Kazakhstani Tenge. This includes a hefty 31,124,390 Tenge levied on entertainment and dining establishments, with 426 penalties handed out to individual citizens not linked to the offending business, amounting to 20,202,810 Tenge. Five instances have been referred to court, while five cases were dropped due to lack of sufficient evidence.

The Ashyq project, a health-focused initiative, was rolled out in Taldykorgan on April 14 and expanded throughout the region on April 26. As of the latest update, 582 objects in the region are working with privileges, including 494 participants and 88 in testing mode.

Since the introduction of the Ashyq project in Taldykorgan, a total of 57 'yellow' and 36 'red' COVID-19 carriers have been detected, with individual cases identified in various districts.

Before this update, the specialist reported that the Almaty region's COVID-19 situation was stable.
