MyGov Corona Helpdesk, India's AI-powered assistance, secures wins in two international accolades
In a remarkable showcase of innovation and collaboration, the 'MyGov Corona Helpdesk' has earned two prestigious awards at CogX 2020 - the world's largest event on AI. The chatbot, developed in partnership with JioHaptik Technologies Limited and Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), was recognised as the 'Best Innovation for Covid-19 - Society Peoples Choice' and the 'Covid-19 Overall Winner'.
JioHaptik Technologies Limited, a part of the Reliance group of companies, is one of the world's largest Conversational AI companies. With over 100 million devices reached and over 3 billion conversations processed, the company's intelligent virtual assistant solutions have been instrumental in enhancing customer experience, saving costs, and increasing sales for Fortune 500 brands.
The 'MyGov Corona Helpdesk' has been a beacon of hope for over 28 million Indians during these challenging times. The chatbot, which was developed in just five days in collaboration with MyGov, JioHaptik Technologies Limited, and WhatsApp, has processed over 41 million conversations and received over 76 million messages.
The chatbot provides a platform for the latest information on Covid-19, engaging citizens with personalised information and updates. It offers government advisories, advice of medical experts, stories of Covid-19 survivors, myth busters, and even musical interludes. The main goal is to curb rumors and misinformation about the pandemic.
Abishek Singh, CEO of MyGov, emphasised the importance of a right communication strategy and technology in dealing with the pandemic. He stated, "The 'MyGov Corona Helpdesk' is a testament to the power of Public, Private, and Public Partnership (PPPP). It demonstrates how citizen-centric services can be provided by MyGov, technological solutions can be provided by JioHaptik Technologies Limited, and public ideas can be factored-in daily to improve services and solutions."
The 'MyGov Corona Helpdesk' was chosen among hundreds of entries at CogX 2020. Haptik's team was awarded for providing the AI-enabled technological solution for the chatbot. This recognition comes just a year after a majority stake in Haptik was acquired by Reliance in a $100 million deal in April 2019.
MyGov, the world's largest citizen engagement platform, facilitates two-way communication between the government and citizens in India. The platform, which has been instrumental in fostering transparency and accountability, continues to play a crucial role in keeping citizens informed and engaged during these challenging times.
