Lisa Barlow, a prominent star on the hit Bravo series "Real Housewives of Salt Lake City," has openly discussed her preference for thread lifts over other cosmetic procedures. Nine years ago, Barlow underwent the procedure to subtly change her face and neck.

Thread lifts are a non-invasive cosmetic procedure that targets sagging skin, particularly on the jowls, cheeks, brows, and neck. The procedure stimulates collagen production, improving skin texture and firmness. It is popular due to its quick recovery time, taking about an hour with minimal anesthesia.

Despite some medical professionals advising against thread lifts due to unpredictable outcomes, short-term effects, and potential complications, Barlow finds the procedure worth the cost, approximately $3,500. She has noticed a difference in her appearance during confessionals when she has had thread lifts.

Barlow does not shy away from cosmetic procedures, but she is selective. She prefers thread lifts over Botox for facial cosmetic procedures and limits her use of fillers. For her thread lift procedures, she consults Dr. Simon Ourian in North America.

Recently, fellow "Real Housewives" star Alexia Nepola got candid about her own thread lift experience, which immediately caused swelling and bruising. Real Self warns that thread lifts can cause complications such as extrusion, dimpling, thread migration, and nerve damage if not performed correctly.

Barlow, however, is comfortable with her decision. She believes in enhancing her naturally pretty features without being shamed. She is also an advocate for the beauty of older women, feeling comfortable with both natural aging and cosmetic procedures.

While some medical professionals advise caution with procedures that do not yet have a well-established safety profile and extensive long-term data, Barlow finds thread lifts to be a natural boost and lift for her. She is content with her decision and continues to embrace her journey towards self-improvement.
