Kuwait persists as a worldwide embodiment of charitable endeavors
Kuwait Celebrates World Humanitarian Day, Affirming Commitment to Global Aid
On World Humanitarian Day, Saad Al-Otaibi, the Chairman of the Union of Charity Societies and Endowments in Kuwait, issued a statement praising the country's pioneering role in humanitarian work. This statement was reported by Al-Rai daily.
Kuwait has been recognised as a "global humanitarian center" by the United Nations, a testament to the significant impact its charity organisations have on the world stage. In 2024 alone, these organisations spent over $30 million on aid across more than 50 countries, reaching millions of people in critical sectors such as health, education, nutrition, and clean water. This effort was part of a broader United Nations humanitarian appeal launched in Kuwait to address crises affecting around 305 million people worldwide, with $47 billion requested for 2025.
Namaa Charity, an affiliate of the Social Reform Society, underscores that World Humanitarian Day serves as a solemn reminder of the suffering endured by millions due to wars, natural disasters, and economic crises. The day is seen as an opportunity to renew commitments to alleviating hardship, uplifting vulnerable communities, and promoting human solidarity.
Saad Al-Otaibi affirmed that Kuwait's humanitarian work is a bridge of mercy to people in need around the world. He praised the tireless efforts of humanitarian workers extending aid to the afflicted across the globe.
The aid delivered by Kuwaiti charity organisations benefited 10 million people in critical sectors such as health, education, food, and clean water. However, Kuwaiti institutions are urged to enhance their tools, strengthen coordination, and build integrated efforts with partners to meet the increasing demand for emergency aid during global crises. These efforts reflect Kuwait's ongoing role in relief, reconstruction, and sustainable development.
As the world continues to grapple with various crises, the humanitarian work of Kuwait serves as a beacon of hope for millions in need. For the latest news updates, Namaa Charity encourages following their website, Instagram, and Facebook.
