Israeli Officials Spark Outrage with Calls for Mass Killings in Gaza

Israeli officials have sparked outrage with their recent remarks on the Gaza conflict. Heritage Minister Amichai Eliyahu and Rabbi Eliyahu Mali have called for mass killings, while MK Nissim Vaturi has advocated for executions. The Netanyahu government has vowed to continue fighting until 'total victory'.

Minister Eliyahu suggested using a nuclear bomb on Gaza, targeting anyone waving a Palestinian flag. Rabbi Mali went further, calling for the deaths of all Gazans, including children and the elderly. MK Vaturi from Netanyahu's Likud party called for executing every Palestinian man and described children as 'already terrorists'.

The Israeli police have surprisingly decided that Rabbi Mali's remarks do not constitute incitement. National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir has also advocated for killing women and children to prevent future attacks. Since June 1, nearly 300 Palestinians have been killed, adding to the over 55,000 deaths in the past 20 months. Former Defence Minister Yoav Gallant dehumanised Palestinian civilians, comparing them to 'human beasts'.

These statements have drawn international criticism, with many condemning them as incitement to genocide. Despite this, the Israeli government has not distanced itself from these views, raising concerns about the escalation of the Gaza conflict.
