India's emissary Ghulam Nabi Azad hospitalized as part of the diplomatic team's health checkup.
Riyadh, Saudi Arabia
Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad, a member of an all-party delegation, has been hospitalized and is currently under medical supervision, as confirmed by BJP MP Baijayant Jay Panda on Tuesday.
In a post on social media, Mr. Panda shared that Azad, who is leading the tour, is "stable, under medical supervision, and will be undergoing some tests and procedures." Azad's impactful contributions during previous meetings in Bahrain and Kuwait have been highly significant, with his absence in Saudi Arabia and Algeria deeply regretted, Panda noted.
The diplomatic outreach, known as "Operation Sindoor," involves visits to various countries in the Middle East and North Africa region. The delegation, initially including Azad, aims to counter Pakistan's global narrative, emphasize India's stance on terrorism, particularly following the Pahalgam terrorist attack, and engage with political dignitaries, government officials, thought leaders, and Indian community members.
Limited information is available on the nature or cause of Azad's hospitalization. The upcoming meetings in Saudi Arabia and Algeria will proceed in his absence, with the delegation managing effectively without his presence.

The all-party delegation's itinerary includes a visit to Saudi Arabia for diplomatic outreach, focusing on health and wellness, politics, and general news. Despite the hospitalization of former Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad under medical supervision for an unspecified medical condition, the meetings will continue as planned.
