In 2025, the most scarce and costly specialists in Omsk have been identified.

In the busy city of Omsk, one thing stands out as painfully obvious - a glaring shortage of medical professionals.

Job search analysts crunched the numbers, examining vacancies across various sectors, and found that for every job opening for a doctor, there were only 0.7 potential candidates, a stark testament to the profession's critical need.

The high demand for doctors is chasing exorbitant salaries. This year, median wage offers for doctors in Omsk skyrocketed to an impressive 80,800 rubles. Not far behind are other in-demand but scarce professions: groundskeepers, real estate agents, cooks, bakers, and confectioners (1.5 candidates per job), machinists, millwrights, and grinders (1.8), pharmacy interns and livestock technicians (2.1), veterinarians, hospital chiefs, and department heads (2.4), plumbers, electricians (2.4), PNR engineers, merchandisers (2.5), electrical installers (2.6), auto mechanic and auto body repair specialists (2.8), metrologists (3.0), and nurses and nursing assistants (3.1).

Interestingly, while high-paying roles like auto mechanics and vehicle technicians Command 122,900 rubles, the highest wage offers go to hospital chiefs and department heads, who can expect offers of roughly 120,000 rubles.

Other positions, although in high demand, receive lower-than-average salary offers. These include groundskeepers (27,500 rubles), nurses (38,000 rubles), merchandisers (47,100 rubles), metrologists (55,000 rubles), cooks, bakers, and confectioners (55,100 rubles).

When considering the overall labor market trends, it's worth noting that vocational and skilled trades are in high demand across regions due to widespread shortages, particularly in construction and security sectors. Transport, delivery, catering, and cleaning sectors also experience increased pressure during peak demand periods, leading to higher salaries during these periods. In contrast, high-level administrative positions remain less attractive and lower paid compared to private sector management roles.

Exceptional cases, like professional sports coaching, nevertheless show that elite sports-related professions can offer highly lucrative earnings at a regional level.
