The US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has announced a recall of Pura 4 Smart Home Fragrance Diffusers due to a hazard posed by detachable magnets in the device's cover.

Identifying the Affected Diffusers

The recall applies to Pura 4 Smart Home Fragrance Diffusers sold from August 2023 through May 2025. These diffusers have a detachable front cover containing five magnets: three small and two larger magnets on the inside.

To identify if your diffuser is affected, check the serial number on your device. The affected serial numbers range from JX230000001 to JX230801425, and JX240000001 to JX240049959.

Understanding the Hazard

The magnets in the detachable covers can detach, creating a risk of magnet ingestion. If swallowed, these high-powered magnets can attract each other or other metal objects inside the body, potentially causing serious injuries like intestinal perforations or blockages, especially to children.

What to Do If You Have an Affected Diffuser

If you own an affected diffuser, immediately remove and dispose of the existing detachable front cover to eliminate the magnet hazard. Keep the diffuser itself out of reach of children and pets while waiting for a replacement cover.
