Honeywell India Orchestrates First 'LeadHERS in Tech' Gathering, Blazing a Trail in Nurturing Female Leadership in Tech Sector

At Honeywell's Bengaluru campus, the tech giant recently hosted the 'LeadHERS in Tech' event, gathering over 200 women professionals from various technology industries. The event showcased Honeywell's innovations and commitment to women's leadership.

The day began with participants attending specialized masterclasses and touring the Honeywell Experience Center, exploring the company's advancements in aviation, automation, and energy transition. The tour highlighted Honeywell's operations, including the use of the Honeywell Accelerator operating system and Honeywell Forge IoT platform.

One of the event's highlights was the high-profile panel discussion titled "Breaking Barriers in Tech: Stories of Resilience and Innovation." Industry leaders shared their experiences, emphasizing the importance of diverse voices in shaping the future of technology. Anant Maheshwari, President & CEO of Global Regions, Honeywell, underscored this point, stating, "We recognize women's leadership in every breakthrough, and we are proud to support and elevate their capabilities and contributions."

Anita Vijaykrishnan, VP of Engineering and India Leader at Honeywell Technology Solutions, also emphasized women's role in shaping the future of technology. She highlighted the panel discussion, which pointed out how women are challenging the status quo in tech and reshaping the tech landscape.

The event also featured the 'InnovateHER contest,' showcasing tech-driven solutions from women teams aimed at tackling real-world challenges. In addition, Honeywell showcased its innovations in building automation, such as enhanced communication technologies with twisted-pair cabling, enabling cost-effective, high-speed networks for seamless upgrades.

The leaders also discussed the role of male allyship, sponsorship, gender biases, and the need for training to mitigate unconscious blind spots. They emphasized the importance of creating an inclusive environment where everyone can thrive.

In the fireside chat, Ashish Modi, President of Honeywell India, and Niranjan Kalyandurg, President of Honeywell Technology Solutions, discussed the company's business segments, including Aerospace Technologies, Industrial Automation, Building Automation, and Energy and Sustainability Solutions. They also highlighted Honeywell's innovations in fire safety, offering cloud-connected and wireless IoT solutions providing real-time alerts, remote monitoring, and smarter evacuation processes for enhanced protection.

In industrial automation and energy transition, Honeywell's Protonium suite optimizes green hydrogen production, addressing renewable energy variability, lowering costs, and improving efficiency for sectors like cement and steel.
