"Health Focused Action Day: Emphasizing Homburg's Significance as a Health Hub"

In the heart of Homburg, residents and partners gathered on Saturday for the annual "Homburg Lives Healthy" action day, showcasing an overwhelming enthusiasm and a multitude of collaborators. The event was spearheaded by Manfred Rippel, full-time deputy mayor, and supported by Saarland's Health Minister, Dr. Magnus Jung.

Initiated in 2016 and rooted in the "Saarland Lives Healthy" program, Homburg has been committed to this initiative since 2011. Rippel underscored the primary goal, which has always been to foster the general health of Homburg's residents. He thanked the over 20 partners who played a pivotal role in the day's success and highlighted the city's growing reputation as a health hub.

With picture-perfect late summer weather, clubs, associations, institutions, and organizations displayed their informational, participatory, and action stands on the Christian-Weber-Platz. Rippel underlined the significance of these partnerships, expressing gratitude towards the numerous actors for their support and expertise.

The City of Homburg's Office for Youth, Seniors, Social Affairs, and Integration successfully encouraged participation in the action day, resulting in various offers for visitors. Participating organizations included the PuGiS team, the Maltese, the German Red Cross, and many more.

Minister Jung underscored the importance of individual responsibility and knowledge for personal health and valued the event for Homburg's citizens. He encouraged participants to keep their health at the forefront of their minds.

The action day was backed by PuGiS and the Saarland Ministry of Labor, Social Affairs, Women, and Health. Supporters included the Saarpfalz District Savings Bank, Dr. Theiss Natural Products GmbH, Globus Handelshof, and the City Works Homburg. The entertainment program was diverse, featuring line dance groups, the Pro Seniore residence Hohenburg, and the hip-hop dancers Human Moves.

The "Homburg Lives Healthy" action day served as a testament to how Homburg is further solidifying its status as a health hub, uniting citizens and experts. It was a day of camaraderie, learning, and celebrating the significance of health in today's world.
