City Portal Introduces Permanent Guide Service for Families
In a commendable move to strengthen family-friendly structures, the city portal has established a permanent guide service to support families with children with (potential) disabilities. This service, designed to relieve medical staff and enhance the health literacy of families, especially in challenging situations, has been praised by Mayor Frank Hilker.
The guide service, which can be accessed by emailing process-guide@our-website or calling 05231 977 107, aims to help parents and guardians navigate the complex healthcare system. It provides low-threshold and early support that goes beyond medical questions, offering process guides for families to accompany them through administrative procedures.
The service is currently available in three pediatric practices and two gynecological practices across the city. Dr. Natalie Hellermann from the pediatric practice at Medicum Detmold has praised the guide service, stating that it has been a valuable addition to their practice.
Family guide Friederike Müller, supported by these practices, has assisted over 100 families since its launch in 2022. She offers guidance on a wide range of topics, from understanding medical terminology to navigating the administrative maze of healthcare services.
The goal of the guide service is to support children and young people in their development and to help parents in challenging situations. By providing this service, the city portal is taking a significant step towards creating a more inclusive and supportive community for all its residents.
For inquiries about the guide service, Daniela Lang at 05231 977 201 is the contact person. The city portal continues to strive for improvement, and this guide service is a testament to their commitment to the well-being of their citizens.
