Greifswald Lifts Boiling Order: Tap Water Safe Again

Residents of Greifswald can now use their tap water without restrictions. The boiling order, issued recently due to a minor contamination, has been lifted. The city's water is safe to drink once again.

Earlier this month, traces of enterococci were found in Greifswald's drinking water, prompting a precautionary boiling order. This order, however, did not apply to the island of Riems. Following the discovery, thorough inspections were conducted at the city's waterworks. Officials found no defects and no bacteria at any tap in Greifswald.

The routine inspection procedure was carried out by the local health authority, ensuring the safety and quality of the city's drinking water.

With the lifting of the boiling order, Greifswald residents can resume using their tap water as normal. The city's water supply is now deemed safe and free from contamination.
