Since August 2021, Eugen has been deprived of seeing his grandchildren. "Suddenly, without a whisper, without a hint, without the opportunity to bid farewell, they were wrenched from their beloved surroundings. The aftermath was a period of silence, desperation, hopelessness – for their mother, their aunt, for their grandmother Christa, and certainly for me, their grandfather."
Eugen's late wife Christa exhaustively pursued rights to see her adored grandchildren once more but passed away in July 2023. "The void she left behind still gnaws at me," Block confesses, as reported by "Bunte." He emphasizes, "Family clashes can be convoluted. But one thing should never occur: A child is cut off from one parent and removed from the family – disregarding the emotional toll on the children and their own well-being."
Eugen can no longer retain silence. "I am putting pen to paper because silence is vice-like in certain moments. I am writing because I weep for my grandchildren – and because I hope they will soon learn how much they are yearned for. And how much they are loved." He yearns for his grandchildren to discover the truth for themselves. "In our family, they will always be greeted with open arms – by their mother, their sister, by me, by uncles and aunts, as well as by their numerous cousins who long for nothing more than to be reunited."
