French Medtech Firm RDS Secures €14m for Remote Patient Monitoring Patch
French medical tech firm RDS has secured €14m in a Series A funding round, led by the SPI fund managed by Bpifrance. The company aims to scale and commercialise its MultiSense patch for remote patient monitoring, which has already been used in 15 hospitals across France, Belgium, and Germany.
RDS' MultiSense solution consists of a wearable patch and a cloud-based platform, enabling medical professionals to monitor six key physiological indicators remotely. The patch is designed to be cleaned, refurbished, and reused, reducing its carbon footprint. The global market for vital signs monitoring is forecast to reach $15bn this year and grow at an average of 15% annually until 2030.
The funding will support RDS' plans to accelerate development and expand sales in France, Germany, and other European markets. The company also aims to launch further clinical trials in Europe and target a US launch in 2028. RDS plans to scale up production and refurbishing capacities to meet growing demand.
The Series A funding round was led by the SPI fund, with participation from French venture capital firm Critical Path Ventures and previous investors. RDS' innovative MultiSense patch has the potential to revolutionise remote patient monitoring, improving patient care and reducing healthcare costs.
