Imhof, who is known for her presence in the "Top 1000 Moms Instagram Influencers in Germany" with approximately 80.3K followers, has been open about her history of depression, panic attacks, and anxiety disorders that she has battled since her childhood.
In 2019, Imhof experienced her first burnout, which she recovered from in just four weeks. However, the following years were challenging for her. The deaths of her father in 2015 and her best friend Miriam Pielhau in 2016 took a toll on her mental health, and she found herself throwing herself into work to cope. This intense workload eventually led to another collapse in 2023, resulting in a nearly year-long stay in a psychiatric facility.
During this difficult time, Imhof had the support of her new boyfriend, who often sat by her bedside. She expressed her wish that she had someone back then who could have given her certain tools and explained how to stay mentally healthy.
Now, Imhof is determined to help others avoid similar experiences. She is currently training to become an anti-burnout and resilience coach, a programme that lasts for half a year. Her goal is to prevent people from sliding into a burnout in the first place.
Imhof is happier than she's ever been and feels liberated. She stated that she almost died and suffers from post-traumatic stress disorder, but she is grateful for the opportunity to start anew. Her partner, a university lecturer from Düsseldorf, prefers to stay in the background, but he is a constant source of support for her.
Imhof's story serves as a reminder that mental health is an essential aspect of overall well-being, and it's crucial to prioritise self-care and seek help when needed.
