In a significant stride towards enhanced inclusivity, The Bathing Operations Company Bergisch Gladbach GmbH has installed a mobile pool lift at Paffrath combination pool. The installation aims to facilitate easier access for physically impaired visitors.
This new swimming aid allows for hassle-free entry and exit from various pools at the facility. With the mobile pool lift, bathers can now conveniently utilize the indoor pool offerings, and look forward to using it outside during summer months as well.
Managing Director Manfred Habrunner expressed his satisfaction, stating, “We are delighted to have made a substantial step towards more inclusive and barrier-free access at the Paffrath combination pool in collaboration with the city administration's disability representative. Our aim is to cater to the needs of all the city's residents.”
Financing for the project was provided by the city administration's Inclusion Action Plan budget. The facility also offers special wheelchairs designed for pool use, as well as separate sanitary and changing rooms. The mobile pool lift addresses the final hurdle in and out of the water.
To ensure maximum convenience, the company opted for a mobile version of the pool lift. This decision enables access not only to the indoor pool but also to the outdoor one during the summer months. Habrunner emphasized the benefits of the installation, stating, “The entry and exit process with the new pool lift are both safe and pleasant."
