Elderly Cyclists Thrive in the City of Borken

In the picturesque town of Gronau, the Circular Police Authority Borken is set to kick-off a new initiative called 'Senior Cycling' on the 28th of August, 2025. This event, which will take place regularly in the future, aims to focus on safety and prevention in Circular Borken, a region known for having the highest ownership rate of pedelecs nationwide.

The route guidance for Senior Cycling is based on current accident hotspots in the circular area, ensuring that participants are well-informed and can cycle safely. Critical traffic situations in the area will be discussed with experts, and important tips on behaviour at intersections, roundabouts, bike lane usage, helmet usage, light usage, and traffic-safe equipment will be provided.

Senior Cycling is part of the preventive work of the circular and police, and the organisers will cater to the individual needs of each cyclist. The participant limit for Senior Cycling is set to a maximum of twelve people, ensuring a personalised experience for all participants.

Registration for the Borken event can be done by phone at 02861-900-6161. Participants will receive a callback. Further dates for Senior Cycling are scheduled for the 9th of October, 2025, in the Bocholt area and the 30th of October, 2025, in the Ahaus area.
