Dr. Ewa Łabno-Falecka Wins 24th Viadrina Prize for German-Polish Unity
Dr. Ewa Łabno-Falecka, a prominent figure in business and diplomacy, has been awarded the 24th Viadrina Prize. The award, endowed with 5,000 euros, recognizes her exceptional commitment to fostering German-Polish understanding. The ceremony will take place on Thursday, May 15, at 4:00 PM at the Europa-Universität Viadrina, Frankfurt (Oder).
Dr. Łabno-Falecka's dedication to German-Polish relations spans decades. She previously served as a cultural referent at the Polish Embassy in Bonn from 1993 to 1999. Later, she headed the department for corporate communications and external affairs at Mercedes-Benz Manufacturing Poland.
Her academic background in Germanistics and Linguistics, culminating in a doctorate from Tübingen, has equipped her with a deep understanding of both cultures. Currently, she works as an investment advisor for the Mercedes-Benz VANS Project Jawor.
Dr. Łabno-Falecka's commitment extends beyond her professional life. She is involved in initiatives like the Women's Congress, Businesswomen's Leaders Foundation, and 'Girls Go Technology', promoting women's empowerment and technological education.
Dr. Ewa Łabno-Falecka's receipt of the Viadrina Prize is a testament to her lifelong dedication to German-Polish understanding. The award, which includes an annual sponsorship prize of 1,000 euros, will support her continued efforts in fostering cross-cultural cooperation. She joins an esteemed group of laureates, including Ulrike Draesner, who received the prize in 2016.
