Community Health System Opens $35M Burnett Extended Care Center in Fresno
Community Health System has unveiled the revamped Burnett Extended Care Center at Community Regional Medical Center in downtown Fresno. The $35 million facility offers over 150 beds, with half dedicated to long-term specialized care, providing valley patients with enhanced access to recovery and long-term care.
The center, which opened its doors this fall, boasts state-of-the-art amenities including three gyms and therapy spaces to aid patients' recovery. A beauty shop is also available for patients' comfort and well-being. The facility has created around 50 jobs so far, with plans to hire up to 200 more staff in housekeeping, nursing, and administration roles.
Leslie Cotham, the director of skilled nursing, envisions the center as a place where patients can recover and regain their independence. Jamie Harris, the director of skilled nursing at the center, will oversee patient care and rehabilitation. Patients will begin being admitted to the center this fall.
The Burnett Extended Care Center's opening expands access to long-term care and recovery services for valley patients. With its modern facilities and dedicated staff, the center aims to support patients as they 'get back on their feet'.
