Carbon Monoxide Incident at Herrenberg Bakery Injures Nine

On Friday afternoon, an international incident occurred at a bakery in Herrenberg/Haslach during its operation. The Integrated Control Center of the Böblingen district received a report about carbon monoxide poisoning in the bakery's rooms at around 12:39 PM. Several hundred people were at the nearby festival, prompting a swift response from the rescue service and fire department.

Nine individuals were injured due to the carbon monoxide poisoning, complaining of circulatory problems and nausea. Four of these victims were transported to nearby hospitals for further examination and treatment, while five were cared for at the scene. The rescue service also deployed a helicopter to airlift one person to a hospital as a precaution.

The fire department swiftly ventilated the bakery to ensure safety. As a result, the bakery's operation was temporarily suspended until further notice. The incident led to the temporary closure and clearance of a section of Hohenzollernstraße. The Herrenberg police station has launched an investigation to determine the cause of the carbon monoxide poisoning in the bakery oven.

The incident occurred during the bakery's operation, which was part of the celebrations for the 1250th anniversary of Haslach this year. The rescue services and police responded promptly to ensure the safety of those affected and the public. The investigation into the cause of the carbon monoxide poisoning is ongoing.
