Blue News Editor Conquers Fear of Heights at Cliff Peak Skywalk

Blue News editor Bruno Bötschi has tackled his long-standing fear of heights, thanks to the expertise of renowned heights coach David Elsasser. Bötschi's journey culminated in a daring speed test at the Cliff Peak's skywalk, jutting 45 metres into the void.

Bötschi, who previously experienced weak knees, shock paralysis, and a need to hold onto something in high places, sought help from Elsasser. Known for assisting people with acrophobia using gradual exposure, cognitive-behavioral techniques, and mindfulness, Elsasser took Bötschi through a one-to-one seminar.

The Cliff Peak on the 2184-metre-high First above Grindelwald BE was chosen as the ultimate speedtest. Bötschi's newfound confidence was put to the test on the skywalk, proving his progress under Elsasser's guidance.

Bötschi's successful confrontation of his fear of heights opens up new opportunities and experiences. Elsasser's methods, including gradual exposure and mindfulness, have shown promise in helping others overcome their acrophobia.
