The Medical Care Centers at Medical Campus Bodensee (MVZ) have filed for bankruptcy. The company, based in Friedrichshafen, made the announcement last week. The MVZ located at the Friedrichshafen Clinic and the one in Tettnang with its branch practice in Kressbronn (Bodensee district) are both in financial trouble.

Employees Informed

The insolvency proceedings aim to gain clarity about the overall economic situation. Last week, around 90 employees were informed about the current developments. All patient appointments remain valid, and the medical operations continue. An employee information session is scheduled for Tuesday.

The employees' salaries are secured for three months, as announced by the insolvency administrator. The goal is a long-term solution for both employees and patients.

Financial Woes for Years

The Medical Campus Bodensee, a significant healthcare provider in the Lake Constance area, has been grappling with financial problems for quite some time. Last October, there was a report of a whopping 20 million euros missing from the budget for this year. Subsequently, the Friedrichshafen city council granted subsidies of 18 million euros for this and the following year. The declining number of patients has been cited as one reason for the financial troubles.

Independent Practices Unaffected

The insolvency of the MVZ won't impact other practices, such as a joint internal medicine and dialysis practice located in the same building in Friedrichshafen. They are independent and have no affiliations with the Friedrichshafen Clinic or the MVZ.

Struggling to Regain Financial Stability

Addressing the financial woes, possible restructuring, and refinancing efforts could be employed to stabilize the situation. Additionally, partnerships, acquisitions, or government assistance might be considered to ensure continued healthcare services for the community. Staff retraining and placement initiatives could also help mitigate job losses.

  1. The financial troubles at Medical Campus Bodensee, a key health-and-wellness provider, have roots in science, as it has been grappling with medical-conditions that led to a reported 20 million euros deficit in this year's budget.
  2. In the business world, finance plays a crucial role, and it has become increasingly evident in the case of Medical Campus Bodensee, as they are now seeking restructuring, refinancing, or even partnerships to regain financial stability.
  3. Amidst these challenging times, it's essential to prioritize health-and-wellness services, and although the Medical Care Centers at Medical Campus Bodensee have filed for bankruptcy, independent practices, such as the joint internal medicine and dialysis practice in Friedrichshafen, remain unaffected.
